5 out of 5 stars Eurocom must develop this game in New console   November 9, 2008
I played KYA long time ago. this game just reminds me of it, even better gameplaywise. Truly hidden treasure for adventure fan, regardless of age, generation and gender. At first look, this seems like being of childish aspects. but its intense gameplay and puzzle-solving really entertains everyone, I believe. Now its market value $2 around. what a chance!! Forget about graphic-overdriven next generation game a little while and enjoy this pretty cool game for brainstorming

5 out of 5 stars Why don't more people know about this game?   December 14, 2007

This is a great game, one of my favorites. It's incomprehensible to me that it's not more popular. My major complaint is that the ending really doesn't finish the story, it really needs a sequel. None seems to be forthcoming, though. Story line is Egyptian themed, and it has a unique way of switching from the Sphinx and Mummy and two different modes of gameplay. Although the storyline is different, I think gameplay has a lot in common with the first Jak and Daxter (which in my opinion was the best one in the series). Actually, I think it's more varied and interesting. Maybe that's why my 9 year old son found gameplay a little more difficult. It wasn't very repetitive.

For some reason a very popular graphics style nowadays is the dark, dreary style. It makes me laugh when people say these types of games have such great graphics. 10,000 different shades of gray doesn't do it for me. Not so for the Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. The graphics are rich and beautiful (PS2).

As for the lack of voice, I found it a little disconcerting at first, and certainly they could have really ramped up it's appeal if they had vocals, but what the heck, it ultimately didn't make much difference. I think it's great they got it out in any format. Some of these "big production" games are pretty lame anyway.

The issue with saving the game in certain places was kind of a pain, but to me, it made it more interesting. It was really neat in the sense that it was completely integrated into the playing of the game. If I ever got to the mummy (where you can save only at the beginning of the sequence), I would save or go ahead depending on what time I had left to play. So, generally speaking, a little planning is all that takes.

The game is not too hard, a couple of places we had to look up what to do next on an on-line game faqs.

In closing, a super game; great execution, superior storyline, wonderful graphics, imaginative gameplay.

5 out of 5 stars A nice surprise!   March 22, 2007
One day i turned on my computer, opened the internet and went to amazon to navigate a while and at the front page there was this game recommended to me, i thought it was a game for kids but i saw that the price was only 9 bucks, not much if you've paid 50 bucks for other games. Well, look at the surprise, wow, the game is just great, incredible detailed graphics, great sound, excellent storyline, well this one is a winner.

If you like games like ratchet and clank and Jak, this is your game.

I can tell you that the graphics are incredibly good.

5 out of 5 stars A really fun platformer   January 9, 2007
I really like the concept of this game. Being able to play two separate characters who never really interact, but are in the same storyline, is incredibly creative and fun. The puzzles that were required to advance the game weren't too overly difficult, and when you take into account the types of things that can happen to the mummy (being electrified, on fire, smooshed) it can actually be quite funny. This game was highly enjoyable and I would definitely replay it.

5 out of 5 stars Great!!! I love this game   December 17, 2006
My bff has a ps2 and she got this game. We played it and now we always play it in our spare time. She's always saying how sphinx is SOO hot. She accidentally clicked new game instead of load game, so we had to start over, but that's our fault. My favorite part/level is when we are playing King Tut when he is about 12, you get to find some cool secret passages but he ends up getting mummified by his selfish, evil, and hideous brother. I love this game!!
