Things are intense out of the ring, too. View larger. | This edition offers a number of new features and improvements over previous versions, including a new analog control system, incredible high-definition graphics, updated rosters for both Raw and SmackDown, an expanded general manager mode, online multiplayer game play with chat support, and more. Game Storyline An enhanced season mode provides multiple branching storylines and unprecedented levels of player choice. Meanwhile, experience the intensity of WWE fans in a brand new, fully loaded interactive fighting area. Players can take advantage of multiple weapons, including grabbing signs and weapons from the crowd. Gameplay The new analog control system makes fighting more realistic than ever with intuitive movement and new elements of control. In and out of the ring, dozens of user-controlled environmental hotspots let players take advantage of anything at their disposal to inflict damage on opponents in new and unique ways. Additionally, new high impact combination moves let players take the power of WWE Superstars into their own hands. Two categories of movesets are now determined by your weight class. Lighter wrestlers have access to martial arts-style moves, while heavier wrestlers have access to slower, but more powerful moves. Accordingly, a character can only lift or inflict damage on wrestlers one weight class heavier than them or less. A lot more interactivity in the arenas is included in this latest release. Signs, weapons, and other objects from the crowd can be used to beat down the opponent, while fighting within the crowd is also allowed. Don't forget the previously mentioned inclusion of environmental "hotspots" such as the steel steps, ring ropes, and scaffolding, which players can interact with (Note: crowd fighting and crowd interaction are not supported for all match types). Lastly, the graphics of this release have been immensely improved over previous releases. The game's audio system has also been overhauled and features new sound effects, not to mention new crowd chants and grunting from the wrestlers.

Don't buy it. September 8, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This guy send to me another game in another console. When I make communication with him he told me that is nothing to do about it. It is a scamp.
Two and half stars overall, fun depends on your mood August 2, 2008 So, what changed since 'Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain' ?
Good: more things to do, fast grapple attack, graphics is WAAAY better, there is voice acting. Good: lot of old superstars, Hulk Hogan, The Rock , Mandkind, Steve Austin. Bad: you can't save tag team partner when he is in opponent's submission hold, although you can try to hit or catch him. Result: as if you try to hit ghost. Bad:you can find a pattern how to beat opponent and use it during WHOOOLE GAME! . Mick Foley is character I tried game with , just use right analog and tilt left and then punch opp. head. It is also easy , too easy to Irish whip to corner (L+diagonal+R1+X) and then just suplex them off the top rope. BAD: You need to work a lot to unlock Hulk, Rock, and other interesting guys.
I just tried the game and that's it, TOO REPETITIVE FOLKS !
its ok June 10, 2008 the story mode is unrealistic, especially using a created character...the character starts with such a low rating its almost impossible to win any of the early matches, it pays to start at least two or three story modes with ur character so he keeps leveling up each time...he starts with a rating of 36 if i remember correctly and even the lowest jobber will kick your a*s...doing special moves is not easy but you will get the hang of it, i had fun in this game once i was someone with a high rating like triple h but then it doesn't make sense with him feuding with low carders and being made to look like a punk by the big show...wish the story mode was more flexible based on character
GREAT GAME, MY SON TOLD ME. January 10, 2008 I got this game for my son and he just loves it. It arrived packaged well and on time. It also works well.
Very addicting, but a few minor problems.... December 22, 2007 First of all I gotta say that this game is great. I couldn't put it down. But I've experienced some problems with this. I won't go into major details because most reviewers already cover all the games issues & glitches. The main thing that gets my goat is the reversal system. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE! Even if you go to game options, with REVERSAL HELP INDICATOR "ON", doesn't really help. I would look on the screen and it would tell me when to reverse a strike or a grapple. Well, it flashes way too fast on the screen and when I press it, 9 times out of 10 it don't work. You almost gotta graduate from college to master that part. It would work sometimes, But My reflexes aren't 100% for pete sake! I wished they would've made an easier way to perform reversals! Season Mode Gets very boring very fast. Especially if you have multiple created characters. One more thing, Does anybody know how to unlock "SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT" arena? That's one thing that baffels me. Nothing in the manual was clear on that.I think that the roster is pretty decent. Especially the legends you can unlock by winning trophies in Season mode. I could care less about women wrestlers though, never put much stock in them. Create a superstar is pretty good. you can create up to 30 of them. I would avoid the 2008 title. It's really bad!!!
